The Geauga County Sheriff's Department and Chardon police collected evidence from the home of shooting victim Terri Treadway Thursday afternoon.
Chagrin Falls police said Treadway, 48, and Catherine Sutter, 48, were the victims of a shooting at Hamlet Village, an independent living facility on Hamlet Hills Drive around 8:30 a.m. Police said both victims worked at the location.
Neighbors told newsnet5.com that Treadway's boyfriend was the chef at the assisted living facility and had been living with Treadway in her Chardon apartment since the summer.
Police confirmed that the alleged shooter was a chef at the assisted living facility and was injured during the incident. He was taken to the hospital from the scene and was said to be in critical condition.
Police towed the suspect's Dodge Ram pick-up truck from the scene Thursday night. Neighbors said Treadway's boyfriend drove the same vehicle.
Friends told newsnet5.com that the boyfriend moved in over the summer and that the couple had been fighting recently. One neighbor said that Treadway's boyfriend had recently accused her of being unfaithful.
"He was just accusing her of having affairs with different guys," said the neighbor, who asked not to be identified. "I told her to get rid of him. I told her to end that relationship. All the red flags were showing and it was bad."
Police have not released the identity of the alleged shooter.
Chagrin Falls police said there is no continuing threat to the community at this time.
