Elm Street School placed on temporary lockdown after men with weapons spotted in area

Elm Street School in Painesville was placed on a temporary lockdown Thursday afternoon after two men were spotted with weapons in the area. 

According to Painesville Police Chief Powalie, around 12:11 p.m. two men were in the 700 block of East Erie Street with weapons. In the best interest of the school, police notified staff and the school was placed on lockdown.

The lockdown was lifted and all students and staff were fine. Police said no schools were in danger at any time. The case is still under investigation.
