Students at Lake Catholic High School participated in a courtroom in celebration of the United States' 250th birthday.
Lake County Common Pleas Judge Eugene Lucci presided over the mock trial case.
Students watched to learn the ins and outs of the court system.
Thursday's case centered on an appeal of an improper law enforcement search of a car.
"We have a number of kids that participate in our mock trial team that have an interest in law, so they're able to see, you know, real-life action as well," said John Morabeto, Lake Catholic High School president.
Kids could watch live in the school's auditorium or via a virtual live stream.
