WILLOUGHBY, Ohio — A man was injured Saturday night in a shooting at the SkyLight Inn & Suites hotel in Willoughby, according to police.
Around 9:17 p.m., Willoughby officers responded to the hotel after a report of a shooting. Police said upon arrival, they located a man who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.
The man was transported to a nearby hospital, then airlifted to University Hospitals Main Campus for further treatment, police said. His condition is unknown at this time.
A 20-year-old man was taken into custody a short time after the shooting, police said.
The shooting is still under investigation, and police said there is no active threat to the public.
News 5 crews were on the scene Saturday night and could see at least a dozen police cruisers.
Police were seen blocking off exits, holding what appeared to be rifles.
A Bob Evan's restaurant across the street from the hotel also had officers in the parking lot.
