MADISON TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A Madison Township man is facing child pornography charges after local and federal authorities executed search warrants at two Northeast Ohio residences following an investigation involving a prepubescent youth, according to the Madison Township Police Department.

Anthony Coladangelo, 49, appeared in Painesville Municipal Court on Thursday for charges of gross sexual imposition, a felony of the third degree, and disseminating matter harmful to a juvenile, a felony of the fifth degree. His bond was set at $100,000.

The charges against Coladangelo stem from a police investigation on April 16 when Madison Township police assisted the FBI with a search warrant of a home in Madison and another one in Perry.

The purpose of the search warrant was to collect evidence associated with the viewing and distributing of child pornography.

Coladangelo is facing federal charges involving receiving and distributing computer files, which contained child pornography.

The investigation has expanded to include Ashtabula and Geauga counties, where other child victims are believed to have lived.

Authorities said Coladangelo is believed to have frequented parks in Geauga, Lake and Ashtabula counties where he may have engaged other children.

Victims and witnesses are asked to contact Madison Township Police Detective Timothy Doyle at 440-428-2117.
