PAINESVILLE, Ohio — A Painesville bar and grill was cited for violating the state’s COVID-19 health orders Saturday evening, according to the Ohio Investigative Unit.
Around 8:55 p.m., OIU agents visited Jackies Sports Bar & Grill where they observed approximately 125 customers on the premises.
Customers were seen crowded around the bar and occupying consecutive seats while others stood behind them to order. Agents observed customers congregating throughout the establishment while drinking and little to no social distancing measures or physical barriers were in place, OIU said.
Most of the customers and bar staff were not wearing facial coverings, according to OIU.
Jackies Sports Bar & Grill was issued a citation for improper conduct – disorderly activity.
The establishment will have its case heard before the Ohio Liquor Control Commission and will face potential penalties, including fines and/or the suspension or revocation of its liquor permit.
