CONCORD TOWNSHIP, Ohio — The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help identifying the driver of a vehicle that left a front bumper behind after crashing into a car in a hit-skip last week.

The crash happened around 9:39 p.m. on State Route 44 near the I-90 entrance ramp in Concord Township May 16.

Authorities say a person driving a blue 2008 to 2010 Ford Focus clipped the back corner of a 2018 Grand Cherokee, causing the jeep to spin out of control and flip over.

The Jeep’s 18-year-old driver sustained minor injuries in the crash, authorities said.

The sheriff’s office said they recovered the front bumper from the car, but there wasn’t a bumper attached to it.

Anyone with information about the crash or a Focus missing a front bumper is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 440-350-5620 and reference case No. 2019-033148.
