A group of diners who reportedly left a Perry Township restaurant without paying Saturday have since been identified and made restitution, an official with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office confirmed.

On Nov. 24, sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to Sammy K's Family Restaurant, 4706 North Ridge Road, in Perry Township where management said six people came in, ordered food and drinks, and left.

The bill totaled $100, which the employees volunteered to pay for with their tips.

The sheriff’s office posted about the incident to their Facebook page, and shortly thereafter, the responsible party made contact and paid the bill in full.

Sheriff’s office officials confirmed restitution was made, and the restaurant did not want to pursue the matter further. The post has since been removed from the office’s Facebook page, and because they are no longer searching, News 5 has removed the images from this story.

One of the diners contacted News 5 and said the entire ordeal was an unfortunate misunderstanding, and they accidentally left without paying.
