A Willoughby Eastlake school bus driver was assaulted by an angry parent right on his school bus. The assaulted happened Thursday in front of 45 grade school students who were on the bus.
School officials said the bus driver was just doing his job when he was punched in the face.
Bob Graf, 71, was about to pull out of the school, when a parent got on the bus and demanded to take his child off the bus.
The bus driver explained that was against the rules. Parents are supposed to check in with the office, and verify they are on the pick up list.
But instead, the parent became angry and punched the driver in the face, leaving him with a black eye and swollen face.
“Our bus driver did exactly as he should have, he followed district protocol, which is not to release a student. He didn't know the individual, he didn't know the purpose of the individual,” said Superintendent Steve Thompson.
Thompson said they know who the parent is and they want him prosecuted for assault.
