An 88-year-old man who was reported missing out of Willowick on Thursday died in a motor vehicle crash, according to Cleveland Police.
On Friday morning, Willowick police told News 5 that Umberto R. Bordon was no longer missing but provided no details beyond that. Cleveland Police now tell us that officers responded to a motor vehicle crash on Superior and East 39th Street. Bordon, police say, struck a bridge pillar with his 2004 Buick Century while traveling west on Superior. He was found dead at the scene, say police.
The Willowick Police Department said his family has not heard from Bordon since Thursday afternoon.
Police performed a welfare check on Bordon, 88, of East 329th Street, who was last known to be visiting his wife Lydia at Heartland of Mentor.
