A toddler in Wellington Township died Monday morning after she was mistakenly run over by a family member.
Authorities say a family member went outside of the residence in the 40000 block of Peck Wadsworth Road to move a vehicle. Unbeknownst to this person, the 22-month-old girl also went outside and walked into the driveway.
The family member was very distraught and said the girl was not visible from inside the vehicle, according to the Lorain County Sheriff's Office. The family member also did not initially realize the child had been hit. Once it was realized, 911 was immediately called.
