An Amherst Police officer is hanging up his badge after 50 years of service.
Officer Robert Lane retired Tuesday after an extraordinary career in Lorain County.
He was honored by Amherst City Council for his five decades of service on Monday.
Amherst Police escorted Lane home from his final shift on Tuesday, and News 5 Photojournalist Dave Colabine captured the emotional moment.
