An Avon Lake dog owner was cited for having a dog at large after her Shepard-mix allegedly attacked a West Highland white terrier on Tuesday.
According to police, the attack happened in the area of Parkwood and Moorewood avenues.
The terrier was being walked by the owner's neighbor and two children around 7p.m.
The terrier, which was seriously injured, was taken to Avon Lake Animal Clinic, but had to be euthanized.
Stephanie Menicos, the Shepard-mix's owner, was issued a letter deeming her dog dangerous through the Avon Lake Municipal Court.
