Elyria police are dealing with several robberies in the city and are asking the public for assistance in identifying the suspects.
On April 1 just before 10 p.m., police responded to a BP gas station on East Bridge Street for a man who carried a knife and demanded money from the cashier, police said.
Officers described the suspect as wearing a grey ski mask, a red Ohio State sweatshirt with the hood pulled over his head, black jeans and black shoes.
The suspect was handed an unknown amount of money and fled the area, authorities reported. There are distinct
characteristics about the hood, the block "O" on the left chest and writing on the right side of the hood.
The Best Buy on Midway Boulevard was also robbed on April 1, but in the middle of the day around 12:30 p.m., police said.
According to authorities, a white man entered the store and stole a doorbell system.
Police described the Best Buy suspect as a white man, 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall, wore a knit hat with a Cleveland Indians logo, a grey or black hooded jacket, a grey t-shirt, and blue shoes with white soles and yellow shoelaces.
Anyone with information regarding either incident is asked to contact the Elyria Police Department.
