The Elyria Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating after a woman who was a passenger on a motorcycle was ejected from it during a crash on Thursday.
The crash happened at around 3:10 p.m. on State Route 301 south of Whitney Road in LaGrange Township.
A 68-year-old Elyria man was driving a 2015 Yamaha FJR motorcycle on State Route 301 south of Whitney Road when it went off the right side of the roadway and into a ditch, striking a culvert.
The driver was ejected from the motorcycle and received incapacitating injuries, OSHP reports. He was taken to by Metro Life Flight to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland.
The passenger, identified as Nanette Phan, 68 of Elyria, was ejected from the motorcycle and received fatal injuries.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Alcohol and drugs are not suspected causes of the crash. It remains under investigation.
