Geri Chacchi wants to hold an outdoor music festival on her four acres of land in Grafton Township, just inside of Lorain County.
She said for 11 years, her Lorain County Music Fest, has been held without any incidents.
Chacchi, who supports local musicians, planned to hold a spring concert for musicians too young to play in bars.
She said the concerts are used to benefit various causes.
Chacchi said she was caught off guard when the Grafton Township Zoning Commission got an injunction to stop the music fest.
She said township trustees told her she couldn’t hold the annual concert not because there’s an ordinance against it, but because there’s no ordinance that says you can.
Chacchi said the concerts draw a couple hundred people.
She feels she’s getting the run around and doesn’t know why.
“You realize you have this vehicle you can use to help other people and all of a sudden you just get 'no',” Chacchi said.
She has a hearing with the Grafton Township Zoning Commission to talk about the issue May 16.
The Zoning Commission could not be reached for comment Tuesday.
