A Lorain man reported someone fraudulently listed his property for rent on Craigslist shortly after the man had legitimately listed it on another rental site, according to Lorain Police.
The Craigslist post instructed people to disregard the rental sign posted in front of the property because it was old. It told interested parties to call a phone number instead and fill out an online application that requested first month's rent, officials said.
Lorain police advise citizens not to send payments to anyone who anonymously requests them online in this manner.
