LORAIN, Ohio — A new way to access the Lorain waterfront has arrived just in time for summer! A ribbon-cutting for the Hot Waters Boat Launch project took place on Friday afternoon.
The work included new docks, fresh concrete and improved boat access.
The last time the boat launch had been repaired was over 40 years ago.
"In fact, it is one of the most highly used launches in the region in regards to sports fishing and pleasure boating," said City of Lorain Storm Water Manager Kate Golden.
Improvements at the boat launch are part of a larger revitalization plan to improve access to the waterfront.
News 5 Lorain County reporters Tiffany Tarpley and Catherine Ross have been following the development for months.
Future projects include a sanitary lift station, a cleaning station and a buildout of the Wester Pier.
