A Wellington teenager was killed in a vehicle crash on State Route 301 Friday afternoon.
According to the Elyria post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol 17-year-old Nathaniel Barrett of Wellington was driving southbound on State Route 301 around 4:17 p.m. when he lost control of his vehicle. The car went off the left side of the roadway and struck two trees.
Barrett was wearing his seatbelt and received incapacitating injuries, according to the Highway Patrol. He was taken to University Hospital Elyria Medical Campus.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol, LaGrange Police, Lorain County Sheriff's Office, LaGrange Fire and Rescue and Carlisle Township Fire responded to the scene.
The crash is under investigation.
