Police have identified the woman whose body was found in Elyria.
According to the Elyria Police Department, the body is that of Naomi M. Caulfield, 29.
There were no apparent signs of trauma to Caulfield's body.
An autopsy was conducted by the Lorain Coroner's Office Wednesday, and a cause of death will be released at a later time.
Caulfield's death is considered to be suspicious, authorities said Wednesday.
A woman was walking a dog on Old Fowl Road near the Elyria Township dividing line about 9 a.m. when her dog started barking, police said.
When the woman walked over to the side of the road, she saw the body and called police.
Due to the close proximity of the body between the Elyria city limits and the Township divider, the investigation will be a joint investigation between both the Lorain County Sheriff's Office and the Elyria Police Department.
Anyone with information is asked to contact either the Elyria Police Department at 440-323-3302 or the Lorain County Sheriff's Office at 440-329-3742.
