Motion filed to try Kent murder suspect as adult

The prosecutor in the murder case of a Kent State University student filed a motion Tuesday to try the 17-year-old suspect as an adult. 

Right now, the suspect, a Stow-Munroe Falls High School student, is charged with delinquency by aggravated murder in juvenile court.

The 17-year-old is accused of shooting and killing 18-year-old Nicholas Massa of Westlake. 

According to police, Massa was visiting friends in an apartment Snday on the third floor of the Ryan Place apartments when three men wearing bandanas charged into the apartment. The freshman managerial marketing major was shot during the robbery.

The suspect, who newsnet5.com is not naming at this time because he is a  juvenile, fled the scene but was later caught with the help of Stow police.

Police are still looking for two other people possibly connected to the shooting.
