A 5-year-old is dead after a tragic accident in Plain Township.
Deputies said a father was operating heavy machinery in his backyard on Sunday when he was backing up his machine and found the child on the ground with severe injuries.
The father rushed the child to Mercy Hospital, where the child died.
The father was also treated for injuries after jumping off the machine.
The Stark County Sheriff and the coroner's office are investigating the incident.
