A Bedford Heights police officer has been jailed in Stark County on domestic violence charges.
Douglas Anthony Dardzinski pleaded not guilty to domestic violence charges during an arraignment hearing on Friday. Judge John Poulos ordered Dardzinski to have no contact with the plaintiff during the case. Court documents show he's being held on a $150,000 bond.
He was arrested on Thursday after Stark County Courts issued a warrant for his arrest the previous day.
Bedford Heights Police Department placed the officer on administrative leave without pay while the case goes through the courts, according to Chief of Police Michael Marotta.
His pretrial hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 20 at 9 a.m.
Dardzinski has been an officer with Bedford Heights since 2004, Marotta said.
