The Stark County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in finding a 27-year-old Perry Township woman who could be in danger.

Christine Lynn Slinger, of 3354 Hilton Street SW, was last seen wearing a light blue tank top, blue jeans and white tennis shoes. She is about 5-foot, 6-inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds.

The last known person to see Slinger was her ex-boyfriend who was interviewed by authorities on Monday.

Detectives arranged for him to take a polygraph test, but on Tuesday, the New Philadelphia Police Department found him dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

On Thursday morning, family members, friends and deputes resumed searching for Slinger in wooded areas, fields and creeks along Route 800 in the area of East Sparta and Magnolia.

Slinger's sister-in-law, Angela Slinger, organized the search party and is extremely worried.

"We are praying and hoping, but unfortunately, we are preparing for the worst," she said. "We are afraid to say that the worst may have come. We don't want to come to fact with that, but we are starting to prepare ourselves."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Stark County Sheriff’s Office at 330-430-3800.
