MASSILLON — The Massillon Police Department released a heartwarming video Wednesday showing good Samaritan and a patrol officer rescue an elderly man trapped in flood waters.
The rescue happened July 8 under a train trestle in the 500 block of 1st Street Southwest.
Police said the man was heading north when his car hit high water and stalled. The man was unable to get out of his vehicle as water, rising by the minute, reached the door and flowed into the car.
Ptl. Mike Manos and the good Samaritan pulled the man from the car, and the officer carried him out of the water.
Nice job!
