COPLEY TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A 21-year-old Akron woman was killed in a crash on I-77 in Copley Township Thursday night, according to the Akron Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Troopers responded to the crash on I-77 near milepost 133 at 8:00 p.m. in Copley Township.
A 2010 Nissan Altima driven by Katelyn R. Bailey, 21, of Akron, was traveling northbound on I-77 when her vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a guard rail.
The vehicle then traveled back across I-77 and struck a concrete median barrier, causing the vehicle to go up in flames.
Bailey was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers said alcohol and/or drugs use is unknown at this time. Bailey was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
