LORAIN, Ohio — A Cleveland woman who allegedly gave alcohol to a teen who died after he jumped out of a moving car on I-77 in Summit County in 2017 has been charged.

According to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, Rachelle E. Bruce, 27, was arrested Feb. 14.

The charges stem from an Oct. 8, 2017 incident. Authorities say Bruce gave the teen alcohol while at a party in Akron. Later, while driving the teen home, he became upset about leaving the party and jumped out of the vehicle and was subsequently hit by several passing cars.

Deputies from the Summit County Sheriff's Office and crews from the Coventry Fire Department responded. The teen was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bruce has been charged with endangering children, a third-degree felony, according to authorities.
