Cuyahoga Falls guidance counselor accused of having sexual relationship with 17-year-old student

A Cuyahoga Falls guidance counselor has been accused of having a sexual relationship with a student.

Rebecca Sparrow, 36, of Cuyahoga Falls, pleaded not guilty to a sexual battery charge, which is a felony of the third degree, during her appearance in the Summit County Court of Common Pleas on April 20.

Sparrow was indicted by a grand jury earlier this month, according to court records.

Bath police confirmed the victim was a 17-year-old student who has since graduated.

Authorities said the alleged relationship took place in 2016.

Sparrow is a guidance counselor at Cuyahoga Falls High School, according to the school's website. 

According to her LinkedIn profile, she has been employed at the school for 12 years.

A pretrial date has been set for Monday, April 30 at 8:30 a.m.
