TWINSBURG, Ohio — It's the best of both worlds. The amenities of a salon, in the comfort of your own home.

"My parents raised me if you bless others without anything in return, you'll be blessed," said Yolanda Lewis.

This time Lewis is being a blessing to the elderly.

"I said you know what, I'm going to take my services to them and they're going to get the same treatment that they would at a salon," she said.

Every Tuesday she closes down her salon, 'Silky Strands Salon and Spa' in Twinsburg, and she and her staff of eight stylists hit the road for no extra fee.

"They want to feel good about themselves and its hard for them to get to the salon," said Lewis.

She says she got the idea a few years back before her grandmother passed away.

"My job, because she was bedridden, was to make sure that her hair stayed done and shampooed," said Lewis.

Now she passes that same love along to clients like Delores Taylor.

"In the winter time I do not care to be out on the roads, they're slick, they're cold, snowy," said Taylor.

Taylor is 81-years-old and she's still full of life and loves getting her hair done.

"Well if God has blessed me to be able to move and groove I think I should show him I appreciate him," she said.

Getting to the salon is usually a hassle for her, but not anymore.

"Yolanda is a great young lady and everything she does she does it from the heart," said Taylor.

For Lewis, its more than shampoo and blowouts, its about showing her appreciation for a generation and spreading love

"At Silky Strands we are all about blessings and we are all about blessing others," said Lewis.
