The City of Akron and the University of Akron police are asking the public to provide any information related to a shooting reported overnight.
Officials say a white Chevrolet Cobalt with three people inside was in parking lot 5 at the corner of Brown and Wheeler Streets around 2:30 a.m.
The driver reportedly got out of the car, approached another vehicle and fired a single shot. Then the Cobalt left and drove west on Wheeler Street toward Grant Street.
The driver of the other vehicle is a non-UA student. He or she was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call City of Akron police detectives at 330-375-2490.
