The woman who was found dead inside a home in Richfield late last week has been identified.
The Summit County Medical Examiner identified the woman as 43-year-old Christina Sue Whittaker of Richfield.
The results of her autopsy are pending.
Richfield Police, Fire, and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation responded to Whittaker's home on Harold Dr. around 1:45 p.m. Friday after her boyfriend called 911, saying he heard a gunshot.
Investigators were on scene for about seven hours. They could not confirm whether it was a suicide or murder investigation.
"At this point, we are just investigating it as a death," said Detective Sgt. Mike Swanson. "Until we receive information from the medical examiner's office and we put everything together from what we've collected from the crime scene, we're not going to be able to make that determination."
Authorities said no one is in custody and there is no threat to the public.
