Wedding planner guilty of stealing from couples

Cory Friedman, 31, of Twinsburg, pled guilty to grand theft in connection to not providing photographs to couples who hired him for their wedding. 

Friedman was a wedding planner based in Richfield, the Summit County Prosecutor's Office said. Throughout 2015, Friedman was hired by couples to takes pictures of their weddings. He either took their money and did not take pictures or video of the event, or did not provide the couples with pictures. 

Summit County Common Pleas Court Judge Thomas Teodosio sentenced Friedman to two years community control. Teodosio also ordered Friedman to pay his victims $26,731.90 in restitution.

The prosecutor's office said 23 victims are scheduled to receive money. An additional 10 couples will receive either pictures or video Friedman took of their weddings.
