After the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Valentine's Day, frustrated students and parents took their concerns of current laws to the Capitol— causing students across the country to organize walkouts as a way to peacefully protest current gun laws in the country.

The University of Akron tweeted out a photo on Tuesday letting high school students know that if they are involved in peaceful protests and received disciplinary action from their school, the university won't take it into consideration.

Students who apply to the university and have a disciplinary action on their record, won't be negatively impacted during the application process.
