Police said an innocent woman was shot inside her car and several Akron homes were struck by stray bullets around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Multiple shots were fired at a 48-year-old mother as she attempted to drive around a car traveling on the wrong side of Frederick Boulevard near Slosson Street.
The woman, who asked not to be identified, said she suffered gunshot wounds to her arm, clavicle and her side.
"It's a senseless crime. It was wrong. They don't know me. It was for no reason."
Police believe the shots were fired from at least two guns-- an assault rifle and a pistol.
Two to four suspects got away in red, Dodge Charger, according to Lt. Rick Edwards.
The woman was treated at Akron General Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries and released. On Thursday, she told newsnet5.com that she was returning to a hospital because her arm was bleeding again.
The shooters remain at large. Akron police ask that anyone with information on this shooting call the police department at (330) 375-2181.
