NEW PHILADELPHIA, Ohio — A golden retriever and a potbelly pig have found a new home after their former owner abandoned the pair in the parking lot of the Tuscarawas County Humane Society last week, according to New 5's media partners at the Times Reporter.

Annie, the golden retriever and Hermione, the pig, will live out the rest of their lives on a farm in Stark County.

Annie went home with her new owners Tuesday and Hermione will go home at the end of the week.

Hermione and Annie were abandoned in the parking lot of the Humane Society last Wednesday.

The man who abandoned the animals tied Annie to a handicap parking sign and left Hermione in a crate, according to the Tuscarawas County Humane Society.

Deputies were dispatched to the parking lot around midnight and an officer with the Humane Society was able to get the animals into the building.

Authorities are still investigating the incident. Anyone with information about the incident should contact deputies at 330-343-6060.
