SUGARCREEK, Ohio — A Sugarcreek police officer was injured while assisting a resident while he was off duty, according to the Sugarcreek Police Department.
Sgt. Chris Bailey was off duty and helping a resident when an unspecified accident occurred and led to Sgt. Bailey suffering a head injury, police said.
“We love you Chris and need you to pull through like you always do. Your family needs you,” the police department wrote on Facebook.
Residents looking to support Sgt. Bailey can drop off get well cards at the station, located at 126 South Broadway St. in Sugarcreek.
Police were unable to provide details on the accident but said that they are all "praying that he makes a full recovery."
