WAYNE COUNTY, Ohio — Two teenagers are dead after an early morning Wayne County crash.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the crash happened after midnight on State Route 57 at County Road 7.

Anthony Shaw, 18, was driving southbound on State Route 57, while Skylar Sigler, 18, was driving eastbound on County Road 7 and attempting to turn left onto State Route 57.

Troopers said Shaw failed to yield at the red light and hit Sigler's vehicle.

After Shaw's vehicle hit Sigler's, his car traveled off the left side of State Route 57 before striking a guardrail, overturning and becoming engulfed in flames, according to troopers.

Shaw and Sigler were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers said alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash.

Neither driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
