MEDINA COUNTY, Ohio — A person has died after attempting to rescue an animal from an icy pond.
Litchfield fire said they responded to two water rescues on Saturday.
The Wayne County Dive Team assisted in the water rescues.
One of the rescues turned fatal after a person fell through the ice on a pond after they went to save an animal.
The identity of the person has not been released.
