We may not have LeBron and we may not see the sun as often as we'd like, but Northeast Ohio does have some excellent schools under its belt — the region still claims one of the best school districts in the country and has several of the top public and private high schools in the state.
Last year, the Solon City School District took the top spot for best school district in America, according to Niche, a website that helps parents find the schools and neighborhoods that are best for them.
This year, the district fell only slightly to the number two spot, but it still takes the top spot for the best school district in Ohio, according to the list.
Niche gives the district an overall grade of A+. This was calculated using the following categories and grades:

Solon fell behind Jericho Union Free School District in Jericho, N.Y.
Niche also has a list of the best public high schools in Ohio. Solon High School took the second spot behind Dublin Jerome High School in the Dublin City School District near Columbus. Other schools in the top 25 from Northeast Ohio include:

- #18 Rocky River High School
- #19 Chagrin Falls High School
- #23 Beachwood High School
In the list of best private high schools in the state, schools in Northeast Ohio took 12 of the top 25 spots.
