Overnight wires sparked and lit up the sky on West 11th Street. A tree fell on a vehicle on Lena Avenue.

Then, in Cleveland Heights, a tree burned from the inside out on Allston Road. Another tree narrowly missed a house.

Over in Mentor, Mentor Avenue is down to one lane in each direction between Garfield Road and Sharonlee Drive due to storm-related damage and downed power lines. Hawthorne Drive and Jackson Street were also closed due to a downed power line.

As of 9:30 a.m., about 21,000 people were still without power—most in Cuyahoga County.
