Two men drown in separate incidents in Lake Erie

Two men drowned on Wednesday in Lake Erie near Sandusky in two separate incidents, according to authorities. 

An 80-year-old man went overboard Wednesday afternoon in Marble Head, according to the Sandusky Fire Department. The dive team was requested around 6 p.m. and deployed into the marina to get the man, who was later pronounced dead, authorities said.

In a second incident, a 911 caller notified authorities at around 5 p.m. of a 21-year-old man who went into the water from a dock near South Bass Island State Park, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. The Ottawa County dive team went in after him around 7:15 p.m. His body was taken to the Lucas County coroner's office.
