Willoughby Hills residents shared their concerns and frustrations during a packed Oct. 11 city council meeting.

Residents told members of city council to settle their differences with Mayor Robert Weger, after Weger attempted to remove six members of council, using a section of the city charter last week.

Weger alleged misconduct by the members of council, claiming they attempted to over-step their authority.

Council members then turned to a visiting judge to obtain a temporary restraining order, upholding their jobs earlier in the week.

Council members told residents they'll now put city charter changes on the November ballot, one of the changes would eliminate the ability of the Mayor, or a single elected official to remove council members from office.

At one point the council meeting lost order and control, police had to step in and ask two people to leave.

Mayor Weger can still pursue his attempt to remove the council members by making an appeal to the judge.

The judge would then likely have to make a final ruling on the case by Oct. 24.
