CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Animal Protective League featured a Valentine’s Day weekend promotion, waiving adoption fees for all senior pets at the facility and more than 50 cats and dogs found their forever homes.

After receiving a grant from the Wenk Family Charitable Foundation, the Cleveland APL was able to waive adoption fees for all dogs and cats 7-years-old and over. Regular adoption fees are $125 for dogs and $50 for cats.

The “You Can’t Buy Love, But You Can Adopt It” event ran from Feb. 14 through Feb. 16 and more than 50 senior animals were adopted, according to Cleveland APL.

“Senior animals are always a wonderful addition to any family and deserve to have their time to shine,” Cleveland APL President & CEO Sharon A. Harvey said in a press release. “Many times, they are already trained and want nothing more than a loving home and a soft bed—something we think every animal deserves. We are so grateful to the Wenk Family Foundation for helping us find loving homes for our precious seniors.”
