AKRON, Ohio — The family of a missing Akron man is searching for answers regarding his safety and whereabouts.

Iron Cannon, 27, was last seen in the early hours of last Sunday morning and hasn’t been heard from since.

“I don't know what happened, what transpired. I just want my baby home,” Barbara Singletary, Cannon’s mom, said.

It’s been nearly a week since they last saw him but his family is stopping at nothing to bring him home.

Cannon’s sister, Teala Elkins, said her brother left their home on Grant Street Saturday night, went to a party in Wadsworth and never came home.

“I'm thinking he's sleeping it off or whatever. So, for some reason I had a funny feeling,” Elkins said.

Cannon, who also goes by the name Jalien, is usually active on Facebook but hasn’t been able to be reached there. His phone has gone straight to voicemail, Elkins said.

Elkins said her brother hasn’t been to work either.

“He’s been missing work, he never misses work,” Elkins said.

The family filed a missing persons report with Akron police but, so far, many leads have come up short.

Cannon’s family was searching an apartment complex in Green this week, going door to door looking for answers after being tipped that he might have been there Saturday night.

“The cruel phone calls, the jokes, people sending us way out to nowhere. It has to stop. If you don't have a promising lead or you have a lead, notify the police first before you notify us and keep sending us on wild goose chases,” said Cannon’s mom, Yvonne Stacy Reed.

As the family continues their search, they remain hopeful their nightmare will be over soon and Cannon will return home safely.

“Iron if you are listening, please just come home, we're not mad at you. Whatever happened to make you disappear, please just come back. We just want you home. That's all that matters,” Reed said.

Cannon is described as standing 6 feet tall and weighing 218 pounds with short black hair, a beard and mustache and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue and gray hoodie with khaki pants. He has tattoos on his left arm and back.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call police immediately.
