A father shot his two young sons before killing himself in St. Louis, police said.
Multiple outlets have reported the deaths Saturday night after a man police identified as Christopher Cadenbach, 43, left a park with his two sons, ages 4 and 5 years old. The boys names are Ethan and Owen Cadenbach.
The boys' mother — the estranged wife of Cadenbach — told police that he wanted "suicide by cop" and "wasn't going to be taken alive" after a $100,000 bond had been issued for his arrest, according to Inside Edition. The arrest warrant was issued in relation to a previous domestic violence incident.
After an Amber Alert was issued, a Cliff Cave park ranger saw Cadenbach and approached his vehicle with other officers. As law enforcement got closer, Cadenbach killed the boys before shooting himself, St. Louis-based KSDK reported.
A vigil was held Sunday morning for the two children, KSDK reported. A GoFundMe account has been started to help pay for the funeral costs. As of Monday morning, the account had nearly $10,000.
