A Georgia police officer was killed and another was injured after both were shot in the line of duty on Friday.
The officers worked in Polk County, Georgia and were shot while investigating a case involving a stolen vehicle, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Detective Kristen Hearne, 29, was killed in the shooting, which was described as "more or less an ambush" by Polk County Police officials at a press conference on Friday.
Hearne, who'd spent five years with the department, was married to another police officer and had a 3-year-old child.

Three people were arrested in connection with the incident, including Seth Brandon Spangler, who initially got away after the shooting but was caught following a manhunt that lasted for more than an hour, according to Atlanta's WAGA-TV.
The other two suspects were not immediately named.
At 1:37 p.m. Eastern, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation issued an alert on social media with a picture of Spangler's face and a warning that he was "considered armed and dangerous." At about 3:15 p.m., the department canceled the alert, stating Spangler had been caught.

The other officer injured in the shooting was identified as David Goodrich, who's reportedly only been on the job for 6 months. Goodrich was treated at a hospital before being released.
