Table lamps recalled due to shock hazard

Posted

The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced on Tuesday the recall of West Elm’s Industrial Task table lamps due to a possible shock hazard.

The lamps were sold at West Elm stores nationwide, West Elm’s catalog and online at www.westelm.com from June 2014 through October 2017. The lamps with a USB sold for $130 and lamps without a USB port sold for between $80 and $100. Nearly 41,000 units were sold nationwide.

According to the CPSC, the electrical wire that runs through the lamps can be cut or fray by the lamp’s adjustable joint, posing a risk of electric shock.

The CPSC recommends customers to stop using the lamp, and return it for a full refund.

Nearly 18 different models of lamps are affected by the recall. To find out which lamps are included on the recall, click here
