WATERVILLE, Ohio — An Ohio band has a song for people from the Buckeye State, and the music video is getting a lot of attention online.
Oliver Hazard is a band from the Northwest Ohio city Waterville, near Toledo. The band was formed a year ago by three Ohio natives, Michael Belazis, Griffin McCulloch and Devin East.
Oliver Hazard’s song “ Take Me Back” is about the band’s love for their home state despite the places they might end up along the way.
Fans of the band posted videos of themselves singing along to the song, which the group compiled into a fun music video that you can watch below:
The video received thousands of views on their social media accounts within a few hours, Belazis said.
The song was written after Belazis, who was living in San Fransico, returned to his home state of Ohio in 2016.
Over the summer the band played their biggest show to date when they performed at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Tennessee, the popular event with an estimated attendance of about 75,000 people.
Belazis said that Oliver Hazard has upcoming shows in Toledo and Bowling Green in February.
The band is booking shows in Cleveland in the spring and is expected to announce the concert dates soon, according to Belazis.
