BRUNSWICK, Ohio — To show support for law enforcement in the state of Ohio, the annual campaign Light Ohio Blue is asking residents to pull out their blue bulbs beginning Friday.
The campaign aims to honor and support individuals in law enforcement who have died in the line of duty as well as those currently serving sworn and civilian staff.
Light Ohio Blue is on its third consecutive year.
Businesses and building owners are encouraged to replace their outdoor light bulbs with blue ones, in addition to residents.
In the past, the Brunswick Division of Police has provided blue light bulbs to residents, but due to the COVID-19 are unable to this year.
The department hopes residents who have the bulbs from last year will reuse them and hopes those without blue light bulbs can find creative ways to display blue, like finding and hanging up blue Christmas lights.
Light Ohio Blue runs from May 8 until May 15.
