STRONGSVILLE, Ohio — We’ve seen their posts on our We’re Open Northeast Ohio Facebook page, and we wanted to know the story behind Jennifer’s Restaurant in Strongsville. What we found is a business struggling to survive in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Maryann Wahib was a long-time employee of the restaurant. She bought it from the previous owners in November of 2019. Wahib says at the time, the restaurant was packed daily.

In March of 2020, Jennifer’s, like restaurants all over the state, had to shut down to seated dining. They tried to do curbside and delivery, and it helped but not enough. Now, the business is back open.

“It’s not as busy as it was,” said Wahib. “But we still see the same faces, so that makes us hopeful.”

The restaurant has had to limit seating and is only using about half of the staff they had before the pandemic.

“We’re definitely hoping for things to get better. We know it’s going to take time. We’re praying it will be over soon,” says Wahib.
